In this new publication, the Confederacy of Villages (CoV) explores the progress of our ongoing work using art as a tool to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to local issues. This initiative is facilitated by connecting art spaces to rural communities throughout Europe. New Villages’ Commons Laboratory Handbook presents the work of each of each of the CoV’s member organizations as part of a greater whole, drawing on shared results to build effective infrastructure for continued rural regeneration. As the first publication of the New Village Commons Laboratory, this handbook also serves as the foundation of an open platform for the analysis and research of topics regarding the CoV, including our decision-making processes. New Villages’ Commons Laboratory Handbook encourages engagement with peer organizations, the ultimate goal being to create positive policy change for artists and rural communities alike. The handbook will soon be available for sale at Inland’s online bookshop.
